Because they can. If they really brought us here specifically for more manufactured drama, then isn't it easier to have us on edge from the start? Makes it easier to push us over it when they want.

...It’s not all for me to say. Mostly it was just annoying and the curses were stupid. But the curses distracted us a lot from things we were supposed to be doing, especially at the end. I almost wasn’t able to help at all.
