[Misery loves company, but it could also be fickle. She's hardly chasing Kazuki away now, so maybe she's starting to come back around to the idea.]
That sounds nice. I like parties. [The last two here have been decidedly different than the sorts she's used to. She'd like to ask after Akito, too, but the next question makes her stare at the rough-hewn bar counter. She spins the shot glass between her fingers.]
I don't know. Maybe. We're strangers. And we're in a bad situation, where it's starting to look like we can't trust one another.
You could throw a party of your own, if you wanted. No need to wait for someone else.
[ watches the glass spin... ]
I don't know about that. We're stranger for now, sure, but how long can that last when we're going to be here together for two months? Besides, people aren't meant to be alone, especially in situations like this.
I guess that's part of why I made this place. [Party central, according to the experts. Her eyes widen and she puts a hand on his shoulder, a sudden woozy urgency taking hold.] But you should be careful here, Kazuki. The boys who stay too long turn into donkeys. And then Candlewick, he makes the donkeys into hotdogs.
[Though he hasn't appeared. Probably won't, it's only a simulation, but she doesn't know what the limits of this place are.
Nevermind all that. She has two months to test the limits of this room. Two months to learn more about what remains of this crew. Two months of drifting, of wondering, of anticipating the week's end with a primal thump of her pulse.]
Will you...would you like to be my friend, then? Kazuki?
Not as much of a party if you're stuck here alone, though, is it? [ he is a little startled by that - donkeys?? hot dogs?? what?? ] ...It's just the sim room, though. Even if something like that happens, it'll be fine once you turn it off.
[ probably...? he hopes?
he won't dwell too much on that, instead offering her a little smile. ]
Right. Yes. Right. [Forgot about that for a moment there.] You're just so practical.
[That little smile goes a long way. Rosamund's not in the best of spirits, even with the liquor and the good company and the mixed bag of memories. Very little is wiping the black ichor of Eunhyuk's eyes from her mind. The smell of his blood, the thorn arrow chaffing in her palm.
But Kazuki is here. By his choice. Not out of politeness, or obligation. So often here she's chasing people down, wedging herself into the spaces between them. What do people need? What would they like? Is there any way she can help?
Here, he tells her the offer isn't needed, because it's already been granted. Rosamund smiles too then. Her eyes well anew with tears.
And she winds her arms around him, chin at his shoulder and angling the thorns at her middle away. She has to be careful there, she's hurt him once before.]
Thank you. Kazuki. [There's a sniff, soft and slightly less miserable than the rest she's had today.] I'm so glad you feel that way too.
Still good to know, though. I might've freaked out if I sprouted fur or something without warning.
[ ha ha.
there's a moment where he's worried that he's said the wrong thing. rosamund's eyes turn watery, even with that smile, and kazuki is immediately ready to try and smooth it over. making assumptions has gotten him into trouble before. it wouldn't be a surprise if it happened here, too, especially after a day like today.
...but she hugs him instead, and he breathes a soft sigh of relief as he returns the gesture, careful of his injuries and the briars. ]
No thanks necessary. This is what friends are for.
