[arthur is standing by the window, looking out at the stars with an unreadable expression. more importantly, though, baast is weak to food even if she has a strong aversion to people. tragic...
she looks very conflicted as she glances between rosamund and the treat, doubletaking once or twice. meanwhile, when arthur hears her and looks her way:]
[baast stares at this with vague offense. you think she can be bribed with treats???
just kidding she totally can, even if the vague offense is true. she just kind of always looks vaguely offended. she doesn't go for it immediately, but she does hesitantly approach the pile once rosamund backs away, sniffing with her little cat nose before starting to eat the treats on the very edge.
No, no it wouldn't be right. And she hardly trusts me. I'm quite fine if we can just be friends. [She rises to her feet, dusting off her skirt. Doesn't help the old blood or grime but whatever.] It's hard to be alone. Especially this far from home. Keep her close, all right? Promise?
[a compliment, he starts to say, but she's sunshiney enough that even he, a walking personification of a pouring raincloud, feels weird about it. after a moment, though:]
[Maybe she'll run this conversation back over later and realize what he meant, but for now she remains staunchly upbeat.]
I'm glad to hear it. It's so easy to feel down about everything. Especially since we've only had a very small space to investigate and we're all being made to sleep in a bed with complete strangers.

...What are you doing?

Come here, darling. It's all right! Wouldn't you like a little treat? Here.
[She shakes a little pile out between them and edges backwards a few paces. Gotta give cats their space.]
Go on! Doesn't it smell delicious?

meanwhile, arthur:]
Miss Rosamund.

Her delight is plain to see, propping her chin on her hands and happily watching the little dear chow down.]

[he's pretty sure she would be better at it than him.......]

Oh, goodness, no, I couldn't! She's your dear cat, all you have from your home! I wouldn't take that from you! I just want to friends!

Are you quite alright?

[Except a thread of nerves now whips between them. Who was doing all right here?]

[how does he say that he's not used to people being open about how they're feeling without being weird. there are no princesses in eden.]
Quite verbose.
[arthur be nice!!!!!]

[Phew! She shoots him a sunny grin.
But then, she's getting a bit of vibe here. Something less than peachy keen.]
Are you all right?

[A beat.]
You're not worried about... You know. Being put to sleep again?

[She fidgets some.]
Or maybe it can be triggered by accident. If you bump the wrong thing in that room they might put you to sleep on their own, no interference needed.
