[Her eyes go to the paper of course. Her heart pings. She's in no great shape herself, hair wet and the shock draining the verve out of her. But she slips into the seat beside him, and in spite of the week's mishaps puts an arm around his shoulder.]
[ he loops his arm around her from behind as well, sitting side by side in the repeated misery of friday. he shakes his head a bit. he takes a guess when he sees her hair is wet but it doesn't stop him from squeezing her in a side hug for a long beat.
[ always the way isn't it? he refuses to move away, even with the uncertainty hanging there. everything can be pitched the opposite way all over the course of a day. ]
