Maybe drawing from the same sources? There were very powerful forces at work behind each incident, if I'm understanding all of them correctly. It could be echoes of the magic from older games brought into the new.

I do? Especially with the strange things he said at the end. And the earring was his, and there wasn't very many places for the motor oil to come from. He would have had bigger feet than Essek, too, which that footprint photo showed.
Really, the only other lead was having woodcarvings and a small knife in the garbage, which points to Siffrin. But Siffrin didn't match any of the other evidence, so that might have been coincidence. Or one of them was practicing a new hobby and it wasn't on their profiles as a "skill".
