[Shockingly, Ashe finds her in their room. She's finally conceded there's nowhere to be that's alone save this room, and even then it's an hourly coinflip whether it will remain that way.
She's on her side, hugging a pillow, no longer in her ratty gown but a comfortable nightdress, as modest as their shared eras deem necessary. Her back is to the door, but she calls out when it opens.]
[Ashe debated on coming back to the room after everything that's happened. He stayed out as long as he could without looking too suspicious. He could try to figure out the vending machines again or try to get some food from the mess hall or even sit at the window to look at space, but he couldn't stop his worry over her. He would come back to check on her then leave again if she wanted.
Ashe walked in and placed the food he gathered from the vending machines on their table.]
[Ashe bit back the urge to ask if she was sure. He nodded and took a seat at the table. He wanted to ask if she ate or drank anything, but didn't want to push too hard so soon.]
They're pretty amazing how quickly you can get different foods. I got a few sandwiches, some sweets, and a few drinks. Well, I put as much food in my pockets as possible. You're welcome to any of it.
[One day he'd learned how to work that kitchen.] If there was anything you wanted I don't mind getting it for you.

[It's also not fair of her to hog the space. He has to sleep eventually.
She also does him the courtesy of rolling upright, though she's still turned away from him.]
You really love the vending machines, huh? Anything interesting today?
